Doctor of Philosophy

The Counselor Education and Supervision (Ph.D.) program is one of a variety of graduate programs offered in the School of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education (APCE). Our School also offers programs at the masters, specialist and doctoral level in professional and school counseling, as well as counseling and school psychology. Graduates in the doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision pursue careers in a variety of settings as faculty members, advanced clinicians, couples and family counselors, school counselors, directors of school guidance, or directors of counseling agencies.

The Graduate programs in Counseling at UNC have a long history of accreditation. The Counseling programs (Professional Counseling and Counselor Education and Supervision) in the Department of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education (APCE) are accredited with CACREP.
